There was an issue with one of my granddaughter's bottom teeth after braces were removed. One of the teeth moved out of place after just 6 days right before she got her retainer. I worked with Rebecca and she and Dr. Patterson got the entire matter rectified. 5+ stars for Rebecca for not giving up until things got resolved.

Go here if you need a replace a retainer. Anything requiring actual care, compassion and attention to detail, I would warn strongly against choosing this practice. I came in to fix my bite issues and crowding. I got my X-rays and told Dr. Patterson I would be open to anything treatment wise but would prefer to avoid surgery. He said that it’s totally possible, but would be hard work. During my three years of treatment, I rarely got any other information from him. The assistants do most of your treatment, he doesn’t really update you on what’s going on/assess you for longer than 2 minutes. He tells the assistants what to do, gets you in and out as fast as possible. Whatever was conveyed to me during my assessments I followed strictly. Multiple rubber bands, bite blocks, even spikes installed on the back of my teeth that stayed there for two YEARS. He wouldn’t have removed them earlier if I hadn’t brought it up, literally he acted like “oh yeah probably time to get those off now” and assistant admitted I was being extremely patient. He has NO consideration for your comfort. Three years into treatment he notices extreme gum recession on one tooth and stops treatment on bottom teeth, referring me to a specialist. By then, I got an estimate of $8k worth of gum damage. I go to another specialist, he takes 3D scans and reveals I not only have gum recession but bone loss. The cleanliness on my teeth was not an issue, it was truly genetic and if Dr. Patterson had taken any time to actually look at my x-rays, jaw and gums he could’ve proceeded with a plan that wouldn’t put my teeth at such risk. Gum grafts are NOT cheap, bone loss is not easy to solve. I can’t express the stress I feel trying to deal with the aftermath of my treatment. Dr. Patterson recommended I get 4 teeth pulled to make space (could’ve at least brought that up to me THREE years ago????) and we re-try treatment, but all my trust with him was beyond broken by then. I tried to ask for a refund with the finance lady anf explain the gravity of the situation, I was told I could ‘keep complaining if I want to.’ Embarrassingly I cried while getting my retainer, I was so deeply uncomfortable going back into an office that had treated me so poorly and would do nothing to fix the situation. I would not play games with my health and come here, please go to multiple ortho’s and choose someone who CARES. I will take pictures of the damage I sustained below.

Do not trust anything they say. They totally screwed me over. They never finished the job of fixing my teeth and mislead me into thinking my insurance would cover it. I truly believe that Dr. Patterson cared more about my money than my smile. It was a simple fix, my smile wasn't that bad, they told me insurance pays $3000, I pay $2000. I trusted that, only found out a full year later that my insurance wasn't gonna pay. Turns out Patterson Orthodontics was reviewing last year's insurance information, not the current year. They didn't care and never apologized. They gave me a payment plan at least, but never discounted anything, despite it being their mistake. Also, I had to move to Oregon for a new job and Dr. Patterson said it was okay to take my braces off early. That sounded good to me, what do I know, my smile's better than it's ever been. I move to Oregon, and every damn piece of food is getting stuck in my teeth. I go to a dentist and he gives me a weird look, and asks where I got my teeth fixed and how it went. Turns out he was really confused as to why Dr. Patterson would just leave gaps in my teeth. Turns out Dr. Patterson didn't care about my smile, and he didn't want to give up some of the money to a new orthodontist to finish the job. What a nightmare... $2000 extra in cash down the drain, ~$1400 quote to fix what Dr. Patterson didn't finish... obviously I don't recommend him. Yeah, he seems nice, got a lot of nice people working for him, but I truly doubt his competence as an orthodontist. AND NEVER LET HIM TAKE YOUR BRACES OFF EARLY.I realize I should have written this review sooner, but hey, I've been trying to stay away from negativity... it's just this nightmare experience won't get outta my brain, so I guess this review is a form of catharsis.

Dr. Patterson and his staff are professional and courteous. They have two offices in the Prescott area so making an appointment is easy. They make everyone feel comfortable during their appointment, and we would highly recommend Patterson Orthodontist to our friends and family.

Top notch people run the show here! Sincerely they have not only been fantastic every single time I have called or been in the office, they have saved my a$$ and not even asked questions or showed any judgment towards my situation.If you are reading this...
